Linger is a contemporary interpretation ofthe mbira.

The project began in 2016 through playing the kalimba, and later evolved through working with expanded forms of the mbira, informed by earlier developments ofthe instrument.

 Over time, it has been refned to reduce size and weight while improving volume and responsiveness, The aim is to make it more portable and accessible, without losing the richness of its tone.

Each instrument is handbuilt by a luthier using mahogany and spruce, shaped through careful cutting and assembly to balancstructure and acoustic resonance.

It can be approached in different ways. It may be played as ameditative instrument, used for experimentation, or simply existas an object with its own sonic character.
